With a lifelong passion for motorcycles dating back to the early 1970s, we launched into the motorcycle industry in 2007, founding Big Bear Choppers Australia Pty Ltd and Wildcard Customs Pty Ltd. Leveraging over 16 years of experience in import and distribution, we initially focused on importing and building choppers. Big Bear Choppers Australia managed the licensed production facility and Compliance Plate Approvals (CPA), while Wildcard Customs ran the workshop.
In the early days, we sourced components and pre-built bikes from Big Bear Choppers in the U.S., quickly earning respect for the quality of our builds. However, recurring supply chain issues, lack of support, and quality control challenges prompted us to rethink our approach. By 2011, we pivoted to sourcing frames and sheet metal from the U.S. while forming strong partnerships with industry leaders like S&S Cycle, Baker Drivetrain, Performance Machine, BDL, and others. These relationships ensured we could maintain the exceptional quality our customers expect.
Our journey has been hands-on from the beginning. From opening our shop in early 2008 to building over 130 choppers and learning in and directly from U.S. industry experts, we’ve continually honed our craft. In 2010, we earned S&S Cycle Dealer Training Certification, becoming an S&S Pro Tune Performance Center—a milestone that established us as a trusted provider for high-performance motorcycle builds and tuning.
As the motorcycle industry evolved, so did we. By 2012, we expanded into importing, complying, and servicing Harley-Davidsons. Recognizing the need to stay ahead, we deepened our expertise by training at the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Arizona, gaining invaluable skills in engine building, dyno tuning, and advanced diagnostics.
In 2015, we transitioned to a larger workshop in Kunda Park, shifting our focus to providing premium services and high-performance builds for Harley-Davidson and custom chopper enthusiasts. Word of mouth and loyal customers have been our cornerstone, allowing us to continue delivering standout machines to passionate riders across Australia.
Our passion doesn’t stop at the workshop—it extends to the racetrack. In 2021, we proudly won the CQDRA Championship, solidifying our commitment to performance and racing. Today, we collaborate with partners like A.P.E., Rollies Speed Shop, Dunlop Tyres, and others, building cutting edge performance Harley’s.
With 17 years of dedication to Evolution, Twin Cam, and Milwaukee-Eight platforms, we offer everything from routine servicing to top-tier performance builds. Every project we undertake reflects our relentless pursuit of excellence and our love for motorcycles.
